PCAT is delighted to announce the appointment of our new chair.
Judith Dingwall, who was previously vice-chair of the charitable action trust, was unanimously elected as chair following PCAT’s AGM earlier this year.
Judith grew up in Moulin and was a pupil at Pitlochry High School and Breadalbane Academy before studying at the prestigious Norland College in Berkshire and embarking on a career in childcare and education. After living in various locations around Scotland, Judith returned to Pitlochry with her family in 2001 to ensure that her children would grow up enjoying community life in the town, and is extremely proud to have been a member of the Pitlochry High School Parent Council that successfully campaigned to ensure the school’s secondary department was removed from the threat of closure during the 2018/19 Perth and Kinross Council School Estates Review.
She was also an integral part of the Highland Perthshire town’s COVID response, involved in coordinating the popular fish and chip delivery runs to senior citizens. Her subsequent involvement in the community engagement process that took place as part of the development of the Pitlochry Community Action Plan in 2022, led to her become one of the founding Trustees of PCAT in 2023.
Judith enjoys working at the Pitlochry Homeware Shop and in her free time likes watching musical theatre, going on long dog walks with her Labrador, catching up with the Moulin Hotel Coffee Morning Group and holidaying with family and friends.
Commenting on her appointment as chair, Judith said: “Pitlochry and Moulin is a fantastic community to live, work and visit with so many things going for it, and, working with others, we want to build on that to ensure that the best possible outcomes are achieved for our town.
“Everything we do as PCAT is informed by the aspirations set out in the community action plan for the area, and by continually connecting with our communities through other groups, organisations and individuals, we can make a positive difference locally.
“Our goal is to facilitate the priorities in the community action plan and empower our community to inspire and initiate change, ensuring a sustainable future and adding value to life here in Pitlochry.”
