Council Property Review

Perth and Kinross Council are carrying out review of their buildings in Pitlochry against a background of rising costs and service pressures and have appointed Trail Architects to assist them. Pitlochry Community Action Trust has not initiated this review but have been informed and would like the community to be able to engage with this review. The buildings are:

  • Pitlochry High School – Would you like to see this as a community campus with community sports facilities and library incorporated under one roof?
  • Tourist Office Building – Are we making the most use of this building, could it be used for other purposes?
  • Tyree House containing the Library and Council offices – Is this the best location? If it was grouped with other facilities, could we have better access?
  • Atholl Leisure Centre – Does Pitlochry need better facilities and opening hours? Could these be provided elsewhere?
  • Recreation Ground Pavilion – Can the community make greater use of this and improve it?
  • Aldour and Cloichard Depots – Do we need both of these without losing the service they provide?
  • Pitlochry Town Hall – How does the community improve use of this iconic building and improve facilities and access? How do we improve facilities, bookings and availability?

Can any of these buildings be converted to other uses? Can we have more leisure facilities based here in Pitlochry?

All these issues will be looked at in the council review. Make sure your voice is heard!
